Your Anthem Nurse

An Anthem Nurse can help you or an eligible covered family member manage a complex or serious health condition. Based on your health care situation, an Anthem nurse may call or send a letter to offer support under this program. He or she will help you develop a care plan, monitor your health as well as schedule and prepare for appointments and tests with your physician. Here are some other ways they can help you achieve the highest quality of life:

  • Provide information and answer questions about your diagnosis, health conditions or treatment plan to help you make informed decisions about your health care.
  • Develop a personal action plan to help you improve your health status, reach your health goals and follow your doctor’s treatment plan.
  • Assist in getting access to the health services/medications you need.
  • Provide you with information about other health resources that may be beneficial for you or your family.

360° Health®

The Anthem 360° Health® programs support your health from all angles. These include complex care and chronic condition support, case management, care coordination, a 24/7 nurseline, maternity support, sleep management and assistance with finding a quality provider at the right cost.

24/7 NurseLine

The 24/7 NurseLine puts a nurse in your back pocket — someone knowledgeable you can talk to any time of the day or night, 365 days a year. It may be your first line of defense for the unexpected, it’s also part of Anthem’s whole-health approach. The registered nurses can help you with your baby’s fever, give you allergy relief tips and advise you where to go for care.

Future Moms

The Future Moms program provides 24/7 phone access to a nurse coach, supported by pharmacists, registered dietitians, social workers and medical directors. The nurse can answer questions and talk with you about your pregnancy, early prenatal interventions, risk assessments and provide education. You’ll also receive a copy of the Your Pregnancy Week by Week book.

You’ll also have free video visits with a certified lactation consultant, counselor or registered dietitian. These professionals can provide personalized support to help you with breastfeeding techniques, learn about milk production, baby hunger cues, foods to avoid, nutrition while breastfeeding and more.

Sleep Management Program

Includes outpatient and home sleep testing to help your physician make better informed decisions about your treatment. Please talk to your physician about getting approval for any sleep testing and therapy equipment and supplies, as you will be required to obtain precertification.

AIM Imaging Cost and Quality Program

If you need an MRI or a CT scan, it’s important to know that costs can vary quite a bit depending on where you go to receive the service. If your benefit plan requires you to pay a portion of this cost (like a deductible or coinsurance) where you go can make a very big difference to your wallet. This program provides you important information about imaging services you might need to help you make a decision about where to go to get care.

AIM Musculoskeletal Program

Spine and joint surgeries, as well as certain interventional pain management procedures, may qualify for this program. The program reviews the clinical appropriateness for certain musculoskeletal procedures by using evidence-based guidelines to make sure treatments are medically necessary, avoid inappropriate care cost and reduce health care spend.

Virtual Second Opinions at No Cost to You

You have access to expert second opinions at no additional cost to you through a partnership with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Consumer Medical. In just a matter of days, you can talk by phone or video with a board-certified specialist who has reviewed your condition and medical records to make sure your diagnosis is correct and the treatment you choose is right for you. You can also ask the medical specialist questions about your condition and different treatment options.
